I was born in Belgrade - the capital of
Serbia. In contrast to most of my friends, I had a vibrant life there. In my early childhood, I thought reading was the
most important skill to learn on my way to independence. Prior to achieving literacy, I needed to do chores and be a good
kid in order to have one of my elders read to me. I admit, when I first read "War and Peace," the meaning of the book was
unclear to me. Upon further readings, it has remained my favourite book, and I still appreciate Tolstoy. However, Dostoevsky is my favourite writer.
Writing is one of my passions, and I am looking forward to some free time to finish my book.
As everyone in my family is an engineer, I grew up with the belief that there is nothing to do in life other than engineering.
After I realized that there are too many places that I want to live in, I left my hometown. I settled down in a
beautiful Spanish city, Barcelona. I was studying at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Barcelona was an amazing
experience for me. That is the place where I started teaching and I worked at the University. I was afraid at
first, because my students were two or three years younger than me, but they were amazing and very helpful. I
loved the experience. Barcelona was the place where I joined a research group for the first time. It was
exciting, challenging and absolutely wonderful. Barcelona will always have a special place in my heart. That is
where I met people that will be meaningful and important to me lifelong. I developed an international network
of friends, and at the same time, I attended an amazing program at the University. I had the honor to have
scientists like Dr. Ezio Biglieri, Dr. Angel Lozano, Dr. Miquel Oliver, Dr. Boris Bellalta, and many others as
my tutors.
After gorgeous Spain, I settled down in my new home, the city of London. I'm now attending one of the most
challenging Universities in the world, Imperial College. I'm working on the SmartEN project under Dr. Kin K.
Leung, the supervisor of my PhD.
I love spending time reading, writing, travelling, talking, and sometimes watching the Barca game. I'm interested in history, economy, technology, finance, politics, volleyball and yoga. I speak
English, Spanish, French and Serbian. I am familiar with Latin. I hope to learn Italian and Greek in the future.
